Inspired by: Umbrellas of Cherbourg

This weekend I watched The Umbrellas of Cherbourg upon the recommendation of Amy Merrick over at Design*Sponge. I fell head over heels with the styling and decor of this 1964 film including the smile inducing color ingeniously compiled using beautiful wallpaper, gorgeous French pieces, etc. I couldn't help but think that decorators and designers featured in the pages of domino magazine have taken some (or a lot) of inspiration from this movie. (There's a particular domino bedroom that I was reminded of and will look for to share with you later.) Below are a few lovely shots from the movie. Doesn't Catherine Deneuve look so sweet in her trench coat and with the black bow in her hair?
