As a person who loves color, I find spaces with a palette of bright pinks and blues to be lively and uplifting.

Megan Mullally's Home

My favorite feature in the latest issue of Elle Decor, is that of Megan Mullally's (Karen Walker!) Hollywood home. A quick look:

In the dining room, I love the idea of using Suzani panels to add interest and color to the walls.

I love that the accessories bring in fun punches of color in the living room...

...and in the breakfast room. When the room is otherwise pretty neutral it doesn't take a lot to make a high impact.

In the bedroom I love the simplicity of the decor...

...the floor-to-ceiling windows (and the gorgeous light they bring in!) make the room.

Last but not least, her pups are so incredibly adorable! I wonder if they go to a local LA dog park...I think they'd get along with Little Foot :-)

Color Inspiration for My Closet

Happy Friday! This weekend I'll be picking up paint for my bedroom closet and I'm using the photos below as inspiration:

I haven't decided exactly what color I want -I still have several contenders: Blue Vault from Valspar, Athenian Blue and San Francisco Bay from Benjamin Moore Classics, Blue Marguerite and Sailor's Sea Blue from Benjamin Moore Color Preview, and #034-4 and #032-5 from Mythic...ahhh...decisions, decisions!

Designer Spotlight: Samantha Pynn

Canadian decorator, Samantha Pynn is the host of the television show Pure Design, which originally only aired in Canada, but was recently added to the HGTV USA line-up. I've actually never watched the show myself but I've been wanting to because her online portfolio is pretty fabulous! Here's a look at some of my favorite projects:

I love that the rooms she designs are so inviting, fresh, chic and full of personality. I also love that she integrates affordable pieces (like the Ikea Linus dining chairs!) and sustainable eco-friendly design.
