One of the many reasons I collect images is for the color inspiration! I had been meaning to put together a color collage to include in a post but hadn't because Illustrator, the software I like to use to arrange images, has been down and I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. Anyway, I decided to get around that and just use a different software instead.
This particular collage was inspired by the energizing brightness of summer. Hope you like it!

Favorites from Dwell on Design LA 2009
Although smaller than last year, Dwell on Design LA was still an interesting event. I had fun weaving through the exhibitor booths and taking shots of the things that caught my attention. Below are a few of my favorites:
Reclaimed Space
This was probably my favorite exhibit. It featured a rustic modern structure built using reclaimed materials. I love this because it's an example of how you can reuse and repurpose materials that could otherwise end up in a landfill.
The interiors were designed by the team at ecofabulous in collaboration with the Jeffers Design Group. Most of the furniture in the house were pieces that were sourced from eBay and were reupholstered with natural tapped latex, covered in either recycled PET from Valley Forge, Mod Green Pod’s organic cotton or Q Collection’s organic wool fabric. Doesn't it feel so cozy?Guess who was inside touring the home same time I was? Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers -totally unexpected!Check out this outdoor shower!
Unfortunately I can't remember which exhibitor this was from!
Faucet from Kohler
I liked how this was styled up with tropical accessories.

Rain Collector from Hero 365
How cute is this? One day when I have a backyard, I'll be getting one of these!

Ultra cool bathroom exhibit from Hansgrohe
Lighting from TenOverSix
I loved the way they showcased this -the gold and white background really made this stand out.

Home spa system from Vedana
This one caught my attention because apparently it combines various therapies: aromatherapy, thermotherapy, light therapy, chromatherapy, and sound therapy. If you have one of these in your home you're definitely living in luxury!

~
Words, no matter whether they are vocalized and made into sounds or remain unspoken as thoughts, can cast an almost hypnotic spell upon you. You can easily lose yourself in them, become hypnotized into implicitly believing that when you have attached a word to something, you know what it is. The fact is: You don't know what it is. You have only covered up a mystery with a label. Everything, a bird, a tree, even a simple stone, and certainly a human being, is ultimately unknowable. This is because it has unfathomable depth. All we can perceive, experience, think about, is the surface layer of reality, less than the tip of an iceberg.

Black and White Throw Pillows
With Chanel and the Paris episodes of Sex and the City as inspiration sources I've been incorporating a lot of black and white into my home decor. One of the ways I'm doing that is by making-over my sofa with new throw pillows (pictures of the final product later!). I've come across several great b&w ones so far. Below are my finds:
