The Huntington Botanical Gardens

IMG_2439.JPG

This weekend, in celebration of my mom's birthday, my family and I spent a day at the Huntington Botanical Gardens. If you haven't already, this is a place you must go to if you live in So Cal or are visiting the area. It is absolutely gorgeous. There are over a dozen specialized gardens spread over several acres of rolling lawns, including a Desert Garden, Japanese Garden, Chinese Garden, and Rose Garden. We took loads of photographs. There's was much beauty everywhere we looked. A few shots from the day....

It's Here!

~
~
So the day has arrived -today is officially my last day at my full-time career job. No more long workdays involving leaving my house before sunrise and returning back when it it's already dark out because I had to finish writing a report at the office, and no more hour plus long daily commutes down the infamous 405 LA freeway.
However, I’m sad I will no longer have the weekly Century City farmer’s market to look forward to–the place for delicious Hawaiian BBQ Chicken, yummy fresh fruit and veggies, and beautiful flowers (this week’s flowers shown above!). Above all, I am sad I won’t get to see and interact with daily the awesome people I worked with. I have them to thank for making me laugh and smile every [work]day.

Ah change…it’s a little scary I’ll admit. I've had this job since I graduated college and it has provided a lot of stability. I’m stepping into an area of risk and uncertainty, but I’m up for the challenge and I’m excited for the independence and creative freedom that I hope to experience as a small business owner.

Happy Friday!

This Saturday I have an exam to take which unfortunately means I'll be spending Friday night studying. After the exam though I'm hoping to get some much needed rest and relaxation.
Hope you have a great weekend! :-)

Saturday Morning Breakfast

I enjoyed a very lovely Saturday morning. My husband and I woke up slowly then decided we were in the mood for pancakes. After working out and goofing off for a while, we made breakfast together while listening to Jack Johnson. He made banana pancakes and I made eggs. So delicious!

Happy Weekend! :-)
