Happy Weekend!

image via here

Is it only in my little part of the world, or is there a sort of baby-boom going on? I know probably about 10 people who either had a baby recently or are going to have one very soon. Today my husband and I are heading over to Oxnard to meet his cousin's new one-week-old baby. I'm sure he's going to be cutest thing ever!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Spring is Coming

Spring is coming to our yard here in Edmond. I spent time outside today...the temp was in the 50s and the Sun was shining. The world is better now. :)

I tried to take a few pics to prove that Spring is coming. The quality of my pictures just makes me laugh. When a girl needs reading glasses to look at the camera and the pictures but no glasses to see across the yard, well you get this...

Buds on my clematis vines!
An evergreen tree next to maiden hair grass. Time to cut that grass off.

The path at the back of the pond is just begging for attention.

Look! There's a college dude studying on the patio.

Yes, this is a daffodil. Pretty sad. I think it sprouted and then it froze.

Today I bought myself a B&D cordless blower. Woo Hoo!
I'm going to keep those leaves off of my patio once and for all!

Another sign that spring is coming -we received my younger son's high school graduation announcements. Pass me a kleenex please.

I'm going to join Tootsie for Fertilizer Friday. :)
Be sure and visit all the other gardeners who are dying to be outside.

Classic Stripes

I never tire of classic black+white and navy+white stripes. They come in so many stylish variations {small scale, large scale, thin, wide, dramatic, graphic, polished,...} and look great everywhere --clothing, walls, exteriors, ceilings, furniture, you name it.

Personally, I have a special love for the b&w variation {which you can probably tell by the looks of my blog header}. I own several such striped items and have carried them out in various scales throughout my home--you'll find them in my closet, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room...well you get the point.

What about you? What do you think of black/navy+white stripes? Have you integrated them in your wardrobe and/or home decor?

Midweek Wisdom

Quiet Reflection

"People get into a heavy-duty sin and guilt trip, feeling that if things are wrong, that means that they did something bad and they are being punished. That's not the idea at all. The idea of karma is that you continually get the teachings that you need to open your heart. To the degree that you didn't understand in the past how to stop protecting your soft spot, how to stop armoring your heart, you're given the gift of teachings in the form of life, to give you everything you need to open further. "

Quick - go check it out! Suzanne at Southern Inspiration is giving away Southern Lady Magazine in her drawing. :) Wouldn't you love to spend a little time gathering beautiful ideas for spring?

Monday Sunshine

Nothing quite like a little sunshine to kick-start a Monday morning...

Isn't this bedroom gorgeous? The decor is so simple -- mostly white with pops of blue coming from the beautiful coverlet {which could so easily changed out if you wanted to inject a different color} What really does it for me though, is the energizing sunshine coming in from the windows...and that view!
