Vintage Fashion Wall Art
I love the idea of using vintage fashion magazine covers and posters as wall art. Grouping several together in similar frames can create a beautiful focal point add a great dose of color in a space.
In this space, I love that the accessories tie in beautifully with the colors in the perfectly arranged Vogue covers.

Here, Anna Spiro of Black + Spiro uses white matting and silver bamboo frames for the vintage posters and hangs them on a wall painted a gorgeous shade of blue.
You can find vintage fashion magazines at Paper Pursuits where they have an amazing selection of fashion and design print collectibles from as early as the 1910's.

Sweet Harts
I was reading about the HGTV's Design Star contestants and noticed that Lonni Paul has worked as an LA based designer and has designed a little shop for Melissa Joan Hart which is actually in my neighborhood of Sherman Oaks. It's called Sweet Harts and its a kid's sugary wonderland of frozen yogurt, gelato, baked goodies, candy, and other sweets. It's pretty cute -check it out:
I think she did a pretty good job. What do you think? I normally don't really like a green and purple based color palette, however I think they're fun colors for kids spaces (the combo may be something they gravitate to -think Barney) and Lonni made it work by using a lot of white. My favorite things about the space are the white chandeliers (although they get somewhat lost in the white ceiling) and the purple wallpaper, which I think the adults probably enjoy when they take their kids there.

Design Inspiration: Barbara Barry
Barbara Barry was one of the first inspirational designers I came across when I first started learning about interior design. Her style is so simply glamorous and she has a way of creating spaces that always feel so serene and soothing.

Mira Belleza
I'd like to share with you the work of my amazingly talented little sister Patty, self-taught artist and owner of Mira Belleza.
Patty is incredibly passionate about what she does and it shows. When she's not doing everything demanded of a full-time UCSB undergraduate, she dedicates her time to developing her artistic talents. She's definitely an artist to watch. You can find her original pieces here and read her blog here.
