Tomorrow through Tuesday I will be away on a business trip to Arizona and will resume posts on Wednesday. I spent this morning at the Ventura County Flea Market so I'll have a few photos of my finds to share with you.
If you haven't already, check out the beautiful blog Layers of Meaning. The author, Maria Fe has a series titled Through Her Eyes which features an inside look into the lives of a few bloggers each month. The new edition of T.H.E. series starts on Wednesday and Maria has been sweet enough to include me as one of her featured bloggers! Stay tuned! :-)

State of Limbo
I wrote this while studying "Self and Society" --a course taught by the highly influential Linda Van Leuven P.h.D. whom is one of the persons I credit for giving me a significantly wider perspective on life.
I think most people experience it, a feeling of being in limbo –times in which we have lost our sense of direction because we have left one thing and don’t know where to find the next. And then when you think, “ah, I’m here, I know,” in those moments you can almost be guaranteed that something will come along to put you in groundlessness, to pull the proverbial rug out. Maybe, the point is to stop striving for a place to rest comfortably, to have all loose ends tied, and to “know who you are.” Maybe what is really freeing or radical is to make friends with fluidity, to realize that change is only constant and that the tighter we grasp to an outcome or and idea of how things should be, the more we suffer when they are not that. As young people, we are always told what we should do or be doing. But the question ultimately is –what do I want to do? What makes my “heart sing”? And is it okay to not “know” but to still move forward anyway? Yes, of course!

Beautiful Find
Check out this necklace by Etsy seller myrakim. Isn't it beautiful? It's made with several hand cut and sewn layers of chiffon, silk, silk organza, tulle, glass beads, and a few silk flower petals sewn onto a lovely pink satin fabric. You can find it here.

Photos from Wednesday Evening
Dianne Reeves was absolutely AMAZING! My husband and I were both in awe at how talented she was. Her music is the perfect thing to listen to when you need something relaxing and soothing, something romantic, or something uplifting. If you're interested, you can find her on Pandora or iTunes.

Mini-Home-Makeover: The Front Door
I thought I'd start the week off by giving you a little peak into my home and sharing with you a mini-home project my husband and I recently worked on.
Our home is a one-bedroom condo in Sherman Oaks (Los Angeles), California, which we purchased late last year. Our condominium complex is an older building (built in the 1970s) and most everything visible from the interior common areas is outdated --including the front doors.
Our Homeowners Association requires all our front doors to be the same. This means that unfortunately we're stuck with what we've got until everyone in the building agrees to change them (which likely won't be any time in the near future!). Here's what our door looks like:
It's not a terrible looking door, it just doesn't fit in with our interior decor. The good news is that although we can't do anything about how it looks like on the side visible from the condo common areas, we can do whatever we want on the side visible from the interior of our unit. So, I thought -why not paint the interior side? Who cares if its one color one side and another color on the other side!
I found two inspiration doors that I fell in love with. This first inspiration door is from Amy Smart's 2,000-square-foot, two-bedroom cottage in Beverly Hills.
This second inspiration door was featured in the main editorial section of the last issue of Domino magazine. It's from twenty-something designer Michael Bargo's New York apartment.
So late last week, my husband graciously agreed to give our door a few coats of high-gloss black paint while I was away at work (he has two-weeks off from school!). To my delight, I came home to find a shiny, sophisticated version of our door. I added a little extra style by hanging a framed postcard from our trip to Paris. Here's what it looks like now:
What a difference a little paint can do no? Total cost was about $20! About $10 for the paint (from Lowe's), and about $10 for the frame (from Michael's). Stay tuned for future posts about our mini home makeover projects!

Chanel Resort 2010
Chanel's latest Resort Collection did not disappoint. Set on a boardwalk along Venice Lido, the show featured everything from sophisticated beachwear to sexy romantic evening wear. There were so many great looks it was hard to narrow it down to just a few favorites. I'll let the photographs speak for themselves...
Check out the entire collection here.

Spotted!
Remember my recent post on flower rings? Well I was delighted to find this beautiful photograph by Phil Poynter with a woman wearing a ring very similar to ones I posted about. So pretty!

Flower Rings
Lately I've really been into wearing a big, fun, flower ring on my right index finger. A couple months ago I bought two white ones from Forever 21 (about $5 each!) which I absolutely love and have gotten tons of compliments on. I've been wanting to buy duplicates to use when they reach the point that they show too much wear (that's the thing about inexpensive jewelry the "silver" rubs off), but seems they're no longer available :-(
Today though I found these two from Aldo which might be a nice replacement. Although not 5 bucks, they're still very affordable.
Or maybe since I'm getting to the point where I'm almost wearing a flower ring every day, maybe I can justify buying a more expensive one. I'm loving these...
